Target, feeding and acceptance
Gravimetric dosing uses measured mass; volumetric dosing relies on volume or a defined delivery quantity. Coarse feed handles the main portion, while fine feed approaches the target. Completion combines stable measurement, acceptance limits and the state of material flow. One switching threshold or delay is not automatically appropriate for every ingredient or feeding mechanism.
Example: material arriving after shutoff
For an illustrative 100 kg target, the reading may be 99 kg when feed stops, with material still travelling towards the scale. Record shutoff quantity separately from the final stable quantity. Changing silo level or material flow properties can produce different results with the same setting. This example is not a tuning recommendation; adjustments require observed and validated process data.
Fault handling and traceability
No weight increase during feeding, target overshoot and measurement loss are distinct fault conditions. Define stopping, operator review and recording behaviour for each. Do not merge a failed dose with a normally completed dose. Record recipe versions and setting changes. Acceptance tolerance follows material and process requirements rather than the number of digits displayed by the application.
